Corporate Headshots: How to Look Confident and On-Brand

Corporate headshots are often used for years across LinkedIn, your website and internal directories — a few minutes of prep makes a real difference to the result.

Before your session - Solid, mid-tone colours photograph best. Avoid pure white, fine stripes or small checked patterns, which can shimmer oddly on camera. - Bring a backup outfit if you're unsure — it takes seconds to swap and can be worth it. - Get a good night's sleep beforehand; it's the single biggest factor in how fresh a headshot looks. - If your organisation has a branding guideline (lanyard, name badge, specific colours), bring it along or check with your photo-day coordinator.

Posing tips - Angle your shoulders slightly away from the camera rather than facing it square-on — it's more flattering and reads as more natural. - Bring your chin slightly forward and down rather than tilting it up — it avoids an unflattering angle and defines the jawline. - Aim for a relaxed, approachable expression rather than a stiff, formal one — a small, genuine smile photographs better than a neutral "corporate" stare. - Blot any shine on your forehead or nose just before your turn — we're usually set up to help with this if needed.
